Quality Clothing Exchange-

Our Free "Quality Clothing Exchange" - YOU did it!

Thank YOU! for rising to the occasion, picking up the slack, (I can't think of another analogy to use to relate how grateful I am for your help!) But please know that you are appreciated for your extensions of kindness, support & generousity.
A lot of the folks who came through Saturday's Free Quality Clothing Exchange asked the same questions:

# 1. was "Why are you doing this?"

#2. was "Are you going to do this again?" -Answers were easy.#1. Because there is a need & a means was provided.

#2. Its a possibility!

Saturday was full of reminders... like the fact that our family will reach out and support us knowing their personal contribution is appreciated. Our team members & friends will help us any way they can if its within their ability to do so. The community only needs to be made aware of a need to become involved in an active way. (They also require a few weeks time to get organized, so if anyone else has a great idea, please plan it out at least a month in advance so the many who wish-can do!)

(& Thank you, Greg!)As well as the helpful folks at the Wal-Mart store, for helping us load the clothing racks! (And Jon, for loaning us the use of his trailer!)

Thank you "Bob Evans" for the coupons you contributed to the event as well! "Pizza Hut", "Dominos","McDonalds", "WKKJ", "The Chillicothe Gazette", Beauti Control, "1855", You all deserve a nice round of applause for your community minded spirit and support!

THANK YOU Connie, Peggy, Karen, Athena, Kim, Tonya, Kate, Brenda, Sharon, for your time, advice, and ever loyal support!!!Here are a couple displays, Beauti Control and Jewels by Park Lane. We treated the exchangers to the benefits of our wonderful product lines, for free. Kim gave hand treatments and demonstrated her awesome lotions and I showed accessories to compliment ensembles, that can be aquired as freebies. Connie treated us all to some yummy cake. Here's our very first Exchanger, Brenda. Doesn't she look gorgeous in her "new" dress? Clothes came in, clothes went out..Thats what its all about! One man came in from the rain and asked if he had to have items to trade in order to benefit. He said things were very difficult for him right now, and he would sure appreciate it if we could spare something. Of course we could- you all made sure of that. He chose a couple things and thanked us graciously. I'll pass his expressions on to you.

Many mothers were tickled to find some items their children could use for school. Some ladies were preparing to leave for a convention and happily exchanged some brand new pieces for some dressy clothes. Our donated baby things went quickly, as well as any toddler sized apparell. I'd like to thank Ruth at Shawnee Lanes for sharing our information with others too! People seemed very happy with their exchanges, some even came back a second time with more! We even had folks volunteering to bring us in more hangers! As you look through the pictures, take notice of the lovely decorated rooms available for your needs... weather outside was dreary, but our atmosphere was "Cheery"...For one thing, all the clothes were clean and freshly washed, so that pleasant scent was mixing with the aroma of the cakes in the other room. Another one of Connie's talents!

Good Job Blake and Tizzy!

Let's keep it up!

..."Bragging on our Bridal Show"...(Just a little!)

We were at the Bridal Show at the fairgrounds in Sunday, and despite the temperatures, it was very well attended. A large variety of vendors offered services from limosines to photography, of course we offered "Sparkle"- Our Bridal Model for the day was Sasha. Thank you Sasha, (and Karenka for loaning us the gown!) I work with the nicest people! She was elegant in Karenka's gown, but I was so busy with guests that I didn't get to snap a picture until after she had changed. Even in her casual attire, she's still beautiful & modeling the green "Celedon" set for us. Millie wore the Sateen set, while she happily explained the opportunity to guests and offered them all the options we have to share. Pretty Priscilla modeled the Shannel set in silver, drop earrings, with her black and white gown, the Hollywood, and a bracelet called Gems, as well as a sparkler of a cocktail ring, she was sure shining. Melissa was a Princess in her gorgeous gown and the Tresure' ensemble. Thanks to both girls for their assistance, all day! Even helping to load up and clean afterward- These are some great kids! Not to mention Mayita, she's also a GEM. Peggy came by with some supplies & to lend support; we have the greatest boss! Ryan left, and surpised us when he returned with three steaming cups of our favorite coffee-He is the nicest son!
Over Millie and Mayela's shoulder in some of the pictures, you can see a poster to explain & draw attention to our charity connection, The Starlight Foundation. I love Park Lane ! The Starlight Bracelet is the piece associated with this benefit, & information can be
found on the Chillciothe Gazette forum, under "Shameless Plugs." Eliza, (Melissa named my mannequin), is modeling my own wedding gown from 20 years ago!
We set a very pretty table, and gave little lavender votive candles and handmade, scented soaps as 'Thank you's to our guests. We had the nicest guests! We played Bridal "Win, lose or draw" with the clues being names of wedding related movies. We covered everything from "Runaway Bride", "My big fat Greek wedding" and "Seven Brides for seven Brothers", even the "Bride of Frankenstein"! Jeriah and Louis were good artists, and so was Alex!
Mayela was also working with us; greeting guests, congratulating the "Brides to be",
and sharing in the enjoyable afternoon activities. Amber got the privilege of trying on Karenka's gorgeous gown, Leah and Sasha "attended" her. I caught her in the mirror in one shot... They played games and gave prizes, it was a lot of fun- Another Congrats to Jamie -she is a brand new bride, herself! Here's the Winner of our drawing for a Gift Certificate: Melissa!
Our Traces Earrings were won by a guest named Jay- Congratulations to both of them!
There's a picture of Chris and Krystal checking the phone, (probably a picture of her pretty hairdo) compliments of the Bridal Show. One of Chris & Arthur who helped us out whereever they were needed. Thanks guys! Glad to have had the opportunity to take part, meet so many
nice people, share our program and learn of others that are available as well. There's also a picture of us, three happy Parklaners, my wonderful friends sure "Sparkle."
If you made it out to the Bridal Show, I'm sure you enjoyed yourself. Gonna want to do this again next year! Thanks Tammy, from T&T Advertising, for the invitation!
You put on a great show!

Hello There! I sure hope that you are well! I'm sending you this little note to announce my first fundraiser for the 2009, benefitting the "Starlight Foundation" for terminally ill children. Children are close to all of our hearts, and none deserve to be sick. Your purchase makes things a little easier to deal with for kids and their families by providing games, diversions and distractions for children while they undergo treatment. Below is the information from our website concerning the bracelet, I hope you'll join me in this effort. It's small, but can make a big difference...Thank-you if you can, and if you cannot, thanks for reading!
